The Solar Plexus

Food For Thought…

The Solar Plexus; it is the name of the energy field connected to our stomach and is traditionally symbolized by a flame. Coincidently, this is where the transfer of the sun’s energy takes place from plant to animal.  The energy from the sun is absorbed through photosynthesis and stored in the plants we eat and is often referred to as ‘life force energy’.  All living things require the suns energy in their own unique form.

Like many other ailments, indigestion has joined the list of epidemics plaguing many adults.  Most people don’t understand the significants' of this condition outside the discomfort of the symptoms.  Bloating, heartburn or acid reflux, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea are all commonly known signs of poor digestion.  But how many people think beyond these symptoms of other possible negative affects: how about allergies, stress, fatigue, obesity, diabetes, pre-mature aging, heart disease…etc?  Without good digestion, we simply can not nourish our bodies.  How many more illnesses can you connect to malnourishment?  It is the quality of our diet (processed, refined, and over cooked, etc) that has the greatest stress on the vitality of our digestion.  It’s no coincidence that when the flame of our Solar Plexus begins to burn out that the rest of our body begins to lose its vitality and begin to show signs of illness.

Life Force Energy may not be measurable in all our advanced knowledge and equipment, but can not, nevertheless, be ignored.  What we receive from fruits and vegetables provide us not only with vitamins and minerals, enzymes, fiber, and carbohydrates but also, living energy.  We simply can not continue to believe that man-made can match what nature provides.  From 1932 – 1942 Dr. Francis M. Pottenger, Jr. did a 10 year, multi generation study on cats and nutrition; one group was fed whole, live foods, the other group was fed cooked foods. (The process of cooking kills all living matter in our foods).  Within three generations his whole, live foods cats continued to thrived as a normal population and the ‘cooked’ fed cats died out due to varying symptoms related to malnutrition. It's important to note that these cats were never fed junk food, nor were they fed any sugar; and cats, like many other animals, have the ability to produce their own Vitamin C.  If you compare this to a standard North American diet, the cats had a far better diet then most humans do today.

One symptom from this study I found particularly interesting was the ‘cooked’ cat’s inability to reproduce in just three generations.  At first I was surprised to hear this, but when I thought things through I began to realize how many couples I’ve known who needed medical help to have a family.  I’m willing to bet that just about everyone knows at least one couple who required some sort of medical intervention.  The term Biogenesis is the theory that living things are produced only from living things.  Is it possible that our lifestyle and nutritional inequality from generations before us is already mimicking Dr. Pottenger’s studies?

What generation are we at since the inception of processed foods?

…just food for thought.
