What are Proteins?

Proteins are the 'building' nutrients.

Proteins come from animals like meat (beef, lamb, bison), poultry (chicken, turkey) and fish (Salmon, Cod, Shrimp); or their by-products like yogurt, cheese, and milk.

Vegetable proteins sources are legumes (beans) and some grains like Quinoua (keen-wha), Kasha and Rice.  Most grains however do not have a 'complete' source of protein and should be combined with legumes.  Quinoua may be the only exception to this as it has the highest protein source of all grains.
